with their Kenai Kings

My son and I have had such great times fishing on the Kenai River each summer with Ed O'Connor as our guide. 2006 was our third year with Ed and each time has been just fantastic. I have fished the North Atlantic, the Florida Keys, numerous lakes in Canada and throughout the US, and in the Pacific for Marlin. Nothing else compares to the experience of fishing on the Kenai.

Not only are you catching world-class salmon and trout, but you’re doing it in such a unique, unrivalled area. I have seen moose swim past me, seals pop up next to the boat, bears fishing close by on the shores, never mind all the bald eagles you see! We have been fortunate, maybe even spoiled, because Ed always seems to know where the hot spots are. I think it’s a tribute to his dedication and experience. He knows every bend in the river, but also stays in close contact with certain other guides. Ed was also so helpful in giving us suggestions on where to stay, eat, shop, etc.

When we return home with our usual coolers full of filets, we are most popular with all of our friends and family, who we share the bounty with. I try to describe the experience to them, but words can’t do justice to the awesome Alaskan adventure. My son and I will cherish the wonderful memories for the rest of our lives. I only hope we are fortunate enough to continue our annual fishing trips to the Kenai River with Ed for many years to come.
